This framed print by Cheri Blum is called Burgundy Rose. The print shows a sprig of wild roses from tiny bud to full blown. There is no vase or other item in the picture. The print is signed in block letters, BLUM.
The visible part of the print is 7.75 x 7.75 inches.
The frame is wood with carved embellishment and rubbed with gold. It is 14 x 14 inches and the glass is actually plexiglass which is safer for shipping and also lighter weight than glass. The picture is double matted in a cream mat that has a whispy texturing.
Cheri Blum painted the originals on cracked linen which gave her work a centuries old mien. Cheri passed away in 2003 at age 34 but in her short life she had gained tremendous success for her feminine and fragile style of painting flowers. At the time of her death she had licensee agreements with over 40 companies to reproduce her flowers on everything from wallpaper to salt shakers.
Her prints are published by Wild Apple Graphics. This was true when I first discovered these prints but they currently do not stock any of her prints. I'm not sure what that means.
