This is a 1977 revised edition of the 1967 book published by Time Life as part of their Library of Art series. Revisions were made after Picasso's death in 1973. Lael Wertenbaker is the author along with the editors of Time Life. This is a hard cover coffee table book in a slip case as published. Condition of the book is fine. Slip case is fine. It comes from a non-smoking environment and has never been stored.
The book includes a biography, numerous black and white and color photographs, a chronology, bibliography and index. The author takes a look at the drastic changes taking place in the art world during Picasso's life and his participation in them. No book on Picasso can avoid his relationships with women and the influence of the Spanish Civil War on his life and work.
