THE BLIND ASSASSIN
This novel won the 2000 Booker Prize for literature.
The novel begins just after WWI when Laura Chase drives her car off a bridge. The story of Laura is told by her older sister Iris, perhaps not the most loving or desirable sibling. She publishes a book, "The Blind Assassin" that is a science fiction fantasy romance that intertwines with the events of the real Laura Chase. The book turned the dead Laura into a cult figure.

THE TESTAMENTS
This is the sequel to the infamous The Handmaid's Tale of the TV series.

This book picks up fifteen years after Handmaid's Tale ends. It is three diaries of three women; two in Gilead and the kidnapped baby, now a teenager, living in Toronto Canada. Gilead is starting to crumble from within. There is an international hunt for the daughter of Offred, and a few lucky Gilead escapees make it to Canada. Many of Handmaids characters are back as are some of the commanders and their families.
IN OTHER WORLDS SF and the Human Imagination
This is not really a novel but Margaret Atwood getting to the root of her fascination with science fiction (she calls it speculative fiction) in a series of essays and previously unpublished lectures. Margaret has taken the distopian or futuristic route in her own writing.
