The Nazi Seizure of Power, The Experience of a Single German Town, 1930-1935 is a detailed exploration of "how a civilized democracy could be plunged into a nihilistic dictatorship". Author is William Sherican Allen. The town is Thalburg, a provincial, semi-medieval town, quaint and in a quiet, pleasant setting, in a valley which added to the sense of snugness and security, protected from the outside world.
