Did you know that the US began the war in Viet Nam in response to Vietnamese sailors shooting at flying fish?
Just one of the many incongruous bits of information compiled in this little book that could just as easily be called "Truth is Stranger Than Fiction" or "Truth is Funnier than a SNL Skit."
Written by David Frost and Michael Deakin and illustrated by William Rushton, the book contains examples of poor judgment, speaking and acting before thinking and rushing to judgment, not just in matters of politics and war but in everything from Hollywood marriages to fly fishing. The facts were researched by Gregory Hayman.
The book was published by Methuen, London in 1986 and is hard cover with dust jacket, both in fine condition although I am not the first owner of this book. The book has been in a pipe smoking environment. It is faint but I mention it for for full disclosure. It is 118 pages. Line drawings are reminiscent of Punch Magazine. ISBN 0-413-58310-4.
