Where Angels Fear to Tread and Other Tales of the Sea by Morgan Robertson. This is a stated autograph edition published by McClure's Magazine and Metropolitan Magazine in 1899. The inscription and signature is tipped in on the second fly page. It reads "With thanks and acknowledgements, I am sincerely yours, Morgan Robertson." The book is 248 pages.
The stories were previously published in Atlantic Monthly, Century Magazine, Saturday Evening Post, Collier's Weekly, Ainslee's Magazine, McClure's Syndicate and Harper's Monthly Magazine. This book is undated but a date range is between 1899 and 1916 when it was signed by a previous owner.
The cover is very thin leather on boards with an embossed cameo on the front cover and gold gilt embellished spine.
Condition: Considerable wear to leather finish, both hinges are cracked but seem securely attached. No loose pages. Previous owners name and year written neatly on fly page. Pages have lightly tanned but not as shown in photos which were taken at night with bad lighting. No motteling or spots.
